Matching Gift Opportunity on Thursday September 17, 2026

This coming Thursday, September 17, marks a key moment in ShareLife’s history – 50 years since the name “ShareLife” was officially announced.

On September 17, 1976, Archbishop Philip Pocock issued a pastoral letter, For Which We Stand, officially introducing ShareLife. The name would come to represent our shared commitment to bringing hope, care and compassion to those most in need.

To mark this anniversary, ShareLife will hold a special one-day Matching Gift opportunity on Thursday September 17, 2026. Thanks to the kindness of an anonymous donor, all online gifts made that day as well as those called in through the ShareLife office will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.

Gifts will go twice as far in helping provide food, counselling, care and other essential support to vulnerable people across our communities.

Donations may be made on September 17 at sharelife.org/donate.

ShareLife 50th Anniversary – Open House at St. Augustine’s Seminary on October 3

ShareLife’s 50th anniversary celebration continues with a special Open House on Saturday, October 3, at St. Augustine’s Seminary. Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the beautiful and historic seminary. They can also meet representatives from ShareLife-funded agencies and learn more about the people their kindness supports.
