FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION: NOVENA, TRIDUUM AND SOLEMS CELEBRATION
March 22-24 (Triduum) & March 25 (Feast)
On Tuesday, March 25, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. On this day we commemorate the moment when the Angel Gabriel appeared to the Blessed Virgin Mary and announced that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and bear the Son of God. Mary’s humble and courageous “yes” — “Be it done unto me according to your word” — marks the beginning of the Incarnation and God’s saving work among us.
This solemnity falls exactly nine months before Christmas, reminding us that the mystery of Christ’s birth begins with Mary’s faithful consent and total trust in God’s will. In her response, we see a model of discipleship: openness to grace, confidence in God’s promises, and generous surrender to His plan.
In preparation for the celebration of our Parish Feast, the Novena will begin on Monday, March 16th after the regular Masses.
