Christ is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Happy Easter!
As our Lenten journey comes to an end and we enter the Easter season, we are renewed and transformed by the hope and triumph of the empty tomb and the Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
St. Paul tells us that “If Christ be not raised from the dead, our faith is in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:14). Our observance of Easter is not just a mere recollection of the central events of Christianity — it is a life-giving sacrament and sign of hope, that is realized in our lives each and every year. Our broken world needs an Easter experience more than ever.
Easter is truly a season of joy and new life – a season of peace. At this Easter Vigil, we rejoice that thousands of people around the world profess the Catholic faith for the very first time. They receive the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, and encounter Christ sacramentally in their First Holy Communion at this most sacred celebration. Let us continue to offer our prayers for them.
Easter is ultimately a time of faith when we proclaim our faith in the Lord, that He truly is alive in our midst, and that we are not afraid, but rooted in faith. Thus, we sing with the Exsultet: “Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice, arrayed with the lightning of His glory, let this holy building shake with joy, filled with the mighty voices of the peoples.”
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and liturgical ministers, especially those whose dedicated efforts made the Easter Triduum a truly uplifting spiritual experience through their selfless service.
On behalf of Fr. James, the Parish Staff, and myself, I wish you and your loved ones the many blessings of Easter.
May the Risen Lord Bless you!
